So, I’ve managed to get the C++ course at the university and it isn’t going as horribly as I thought. First programs tell you how old you are, calculate your body mass index, bla bla. But, me thinks this is exactly what I need to go deeper into this computer world. My main excuse was that wanted to be able to modify stuff and create my own externals in Pd (If i was ever so inclined). But it seems the further you go into this, the more you realize you can do (Why the fuck are people writing “realise”? Did I miss something?). We’ll see where this goes.
In the previous post I talked about Control and how awesome I think it is, you know the whole open source/ free to all / no asshole owns this stuff thing; even more awesome is realizing that you can use this stuff (code) for your own work or just to learn from it, if you’re into learning or whatever. That’s where Github comes in, there are some crazy ass people out there that actually upload their intellectual property and let me see it, all of it, not only that but I can actually contribute to the code of the project. And signing up is free if you sign up for an open source projects, well isn’t that nice. What finally got me there was Patchwerk Radio, now this shit is awesome. Some dude decided it was a pretty cool idea to create a site that accesses a depository of generative-audio Pd patches, picks one randomly, lets it runs for ten minutes, then picks another… and streams the whole thing live 24hrs a day! Another reason to get into this programming business. So, patchwerk radio is on github here:https://github.com/notesandvolts/PatchWerk-Radio and Control is here: https://github.com/charlieroberts/Control.
I’m currently writing a generative patch for patchwerk radio, which i’ll be uploading to the site soon enough.

It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
